Two years ago I was gifted a bag of coffee beans, so I bought a coffee grinder. I have fallen in love with fresh ground coffee. The grinder died. I ordered another and it arrived yesterday.

I put the pieces through the dishwasher (they are top rack safe) last night I am pretty sure everything is thoroughly dry. I can grind some more beans for fresh ground, again! Yippee!

I will grind some for a brew in a couple of hours. Love the taste and aroma!

I've temporarily gone back to instant coffee - the cheap beans tasted crappy and the mess was unbelievable.

I wish I could use instant. Tried many brands, and off brands. Gives me an upset stomach. It would be easier. I wouldn't have to brew the minimum allowed in the brewer, which is more than I need. Had a smaller brewer, but it made terrible coffee.

If you ever have an opportunity to try Dawson Taylor coffee, its a must! They are a roaster from Idaho and seriously have the best beans. I am a coffee addict, and prefer ground, but I will say I am a fan of my Keurig as well (I use refillable pods).  I have an electric grinder, but my favorite is my hand grinder. When I was working from home I would probably have 10 cups a day.  When I was in the office, I even kept a small single serve Keurig type machine (like you see in hotels) at my desk!

If you like light-to-medium roasts, Temple Coffee in Sacramento, CA is world-class and ships nationwide. I'm currently drinking their Ethiopia at home, and I have a bag of their Panama ready for when I finish the Ethiopia (probably by this weekend).

I use an electric grinder and have both a French press and an auto drip coffeemaker.

A little expensive. I have beans I like, in my price range. I just needed to get a new electric grinder.

When I drank coffee regularly, I bought the darkest roast possible, pre-ground, in bulk for a discount and kept it in the freezer, and made it in a cafetiere. Grinding is very messy.

How were you grinding it? Were you using a mortar and pestle? 😂 I don't get a mess when I grind? Are you using a hand crank?

Since I have a cafetiere, I use a blender-type grinder - no need for burrs unless you have an espresso machine or bialetti.

Well, there's your problem! 😂 I keep it simple. Use my electric coffee grinder and Hamilton Beach coffee brewer. 😁 Not a big coffee aficionado, just a simple cup of coffee with Equal and Half and Half.
