I had things to get done today, but before I started, I decided to start watching a Billy Joel Madison Square Gardens concert. It was aired twice because the first time, stupid CBS cut it short to air a Pro Golf tournament update. They learned not to mess with a Billy Joel concert! They had to air it again, so I deleted the first recording when I heard it was cut short and recorded it the second time. I have finally been able to start to watch.

I was only going to watch about half an hour of it and finish later. Well, here I am, still watching. Gosh, this is good. I will just have to watch it all. Dang. I should have waited before starting it. This recording will definitely be saved in a folder for viewing again.

Sold out concert. As much as I am enjoying it, I would not want to be sitting in that crowd I am not a fan of crowds.

I am not a huge fan of saxophone, but man! That sax guy is fantastic!

Well, commercial is done.

I like some of Billy Joel's tunes.

Are you planning on learning to play any of them?

@ELCBK I don't think I am up to learning any of them, right now. I like listening and that would hinder it, even if I had a thought to try. It was a fantastic concert. I will be watching again.

@ABitRusty

It was not a YouTube. Back on April 11, what it was his 100th sold out there). This time it was recorded and aired later on CBS, on a Sunday April 14 I believe, during a time the Pro Golf Tournie was going on, which CBS also aired end of day updates for.

CBS made the huge mistake of cutting into the airing of the concert, which they spent a lot of time advertising, to do that stupid Pro Golf Tournie update (I don't know why golf is placed so high in importance!). Well, they heard from viewers, I mean they even cut Piano Man! Billy Joel, and they cut it short, so not showing the Piano Man performance?  They decided they had to re-air it, Thursday night of that same week. They received a lot of complaints, even from the staff on out local CBS.

I deleted the first DVR recording, and set the timer for the next showing. I finally watched it. Sting showed up and did a song. Apparently, when Billy Joel performed in Madison Square Gardens, if some other performer was around when he was performing there, they often popped in and joined in for a song.

There was a song performed by one of the percussionists. She was fantastic. Another member of the band hand a major background part and he was fantastic. Like I said, the sax player, unbelievable. His whole band, and for some reason, I think some of them are regular Madison Square Gardens  and members, it was mentioned when they were talking. You could tell Billy Joel was as thrilled and proud with their performances as the audience was. Which showed great respect and support for them.

If I notice they air it again, which is probably unlikely due to probably the rights to air it, I will PM you. I have never heard him live. Many performers don't sound so good live and nine of the electronic tweaking of their singing. Quite the performance.

His June and July concerts are sold out there. The July, final, at least at MSG will be his 150th there.

I may be off on some of this, but the gist is correct. They don't have the CD out for the 100th MSG concert, yet, but I suspect they will. I will get it, if they do release it. All ofmthe songs were perfect. There was no messing around, like is often done at live concerts.

@ABitRusty -

If you have Paramount subscription - it's there to watch.

...there are a couple YT videos, but have terrible crowd noise.

@ABitRusty Yep. I would be wary of any video not posted by Paramount+. You have to have a subscription. They are not going to post it free. I would think any links posted, YouTube, or any, would be illegal, given this is a paid concert.

I would suggest and request @ELCBK to delete her link. This concert is going to be a target for malware links because people want to see it. It might be safe, but, I don't think it is necessarily a legal link given the copyright on this concert. Thanks for understanding and taking care of it.
