Yup, some of you will know I've had a difficult 18 months or so, but things are "on the up" now - so that's good!  

Oddly enough I had been thinking about this year's Xmas project, when SharonC PM'd me regarding it (and my absence from the forum).

I'll keep my comments regarding my own ideas away from the main thread on the forum so as not to throw confusion into things - I'm good with O Come O Come Emmanuel.

But this is the one that had been attracting my attention - "I believe in Father Christmas" (originally written by Greg Lake - yes, the Greg Lake of Emmerson Lake and Palmer (with an unacknowledged "hat's-off" to Prokofiev as it happens!).  Mid 1970's - and I recall various criticisms (about the lyrics and their meaning - not the melody) in traditional music journals of the time (New Musical Express and other).

I'm sure there must be a video somewhere of Greg's version, but since it didn't immediately appear in my search - here's a full-blown orchestrated version by Sarah Brightman - 

(and the connection to Prokofiev ?  "Troika" indeed, clever stuff Greg  Lake! ) - cool!  Anyway's THAT's what had got my initial attention - but as I say - arrived at the party too late, so I'll keep this out of the project thread -
