Does anyone know how to delete a file that's attached to a post? I want to replace a file with a corrected version.

I've tried everything, I think, but it just won't go away. red_cursing

Have you tried 'edit' then delete the attachment.
As I am typing this I'm thinking to myself you must have done

Thanks, Terry. Yes, I clicked on Edit then scrolled down to the bottom of the edit window. First, I thought I would be able to delete the links to the attachments but they do not appear in the edit window.

So, then I went to the box with the "Upload Attachments" button, which also has buttons to view existing image, media and file uploads. The PDFs that I uploaded appear when I click on View Existing Media Uploads, so I tried clicking on the file name then hitting delete, but that does nothing. I also tried right clicking on the file name, but that does nothing.

Apparently, WordPress stores all the files that you've ever uploaded because I also saw photos and other files that I've uploaded with other posts.  I guess that's in case you ever want to use them again in another post, which would be handy. But, I see no way to delete files that you no longer want to be on-line.

What about copying the part of the post that you want to keep and then pasting it into a new post?  When you have the new one the way you want, delete the old one entirely.  Would that get the job done?

I'm not sure you can delete the attachment but you can surely remove it from your post. Did you try editing the post, marking the attachment and pressing delete? If that doesn't work send me a PM and a link to the post and I'll fix it.
Simple Press has a mind of it's own. I may have to find a setting for members to be able to do that.

Thanks, Pierre. My first thought was that I could just delete the links to the attachments that appear at the bottom of my post, but when I click on Edit, I do not see the links in the edit window.

I thought maybe it was a Firefox problem, so I tried it in Internet Explorer, too, but same results.

I just wanted to upload a better version of the Ash Grove sheet music to my original post here: https://fiddlerman.com/forum/s.....ash-grove/

It's not a big deal if it doesn't get fixed as the revisions were minor...I just added some slurs. I just wanted to avoid any confusion and make sure everyone had the best version. I posted the revised version in a later post in the same thread, so it's there.

In that case we'll leave it alone but I'll go through it with you someday when we are both online if you like to get it done in the future.
