I am looking for a type of African hard wood to make experimental violin bows.  I have not been able to find an American commercial enterprise that carries it.  Please respond if anyone has an interest in allowing me to obtain some.  Thank you.

Good evening Irv,

Is there a particular species of wood that you seek? I have been woodworking for many years and may be able to help you, however, as you know, there are serious restrictions that have been in-place for years now about the movement of lumber and wood products across continents. Let me know what you are seeking and I will do some homework for you on it. Perhaps some dimensions of the product would be helpful also.

Hope I can help.

@JohnBAngel and others.  I am looking for giraffe thorn acacia wood.  I do not know the scientific name.  I only need a few boards of it and the length of the boards need to be only 32 inches in length.

Irv - I hope this helps you further your search.

"Vachellia erioloba" is Giraffe Thorn.  It has been re-catagorized, formerly "Acacia erioloba".
