In case you were wondering about these sort of things...   looks like there are bowed flutes used to charm snakes out there.   Always thought it was an oboe-ish soumding instrument.

That is funny you posted that. I had just read something like that about the cobras.

Boy, you know it's A.I. when they can't tell the difference between a violin and a flute ('pungi' is the common gourd-like instrument)!

What I saw was an Animal Planet show, I believe, and they were showing the movements of the snake charmer without his little instrument and playing the instrument. Wasn't a violin. The snake did the  same movements.

Plus, he is always far enough away that the snake cannot just plunge forward, it would take more than that. Not that plunging and then continuing to move forward would not be dangerous, too. I don't think they referred to it as "plunging", 😂

They said the snake is just reacting to his movements and the charmer knows how the snake will react. As long as the charmer does not show aggressive actions, they said the cobra will just follow the lead of his movements. I would not want to test that and try it, though. I would not want to be standing there watching, either.

There was a lot more said and shown, but that was the gist of it. Pretty sure it was shown and explained in an Animal Planet show a while back.
