I am surprised I have not seen the topic of tariffs come up, or maybe I have missed it.

Since a there are a lot of suppliers outside of the US for most things Violin (Strings, rosins, shoulder rests, cases, violins) are you concerned about future price increases?  Is this preventing you from making a new purchase in the near future?

@Fiddlerman, since a lot of your instrument inventory is from outside of the US, and China is being hit the hardest on tariffs, will we be seeing a huge increase in prices in the near future? My personal concern is how can businesses survive under the tariffs, and would hate to see Fiddlershop suffer due to it.

Myself, personally, I don't come here to discuss these things. This is a fun place for escape, 😁.

Yes Kennon,

This will affect us very strongly. It will destroy many small businesses.
We are very concerned. We have two containers that were ready to ship right when Trump unexpectedly raised the tariffs on instruments from 3.2% to 145+3.2%. This means for the $300,000.00 dollar valued instruments that we have coming from China, we would have to pay an additional $444,600.00 on top of the 300,000.00. In other words $744,600.00 instead of would have been, including tariffs, $309,600.00.

We are following stories very carefully here. Currently our workshops in which we have fantastic relationships with are holding our containers that were ordered many months ago, long before talk of unthinkable tariffs. They don't know how long they can hold them though.

Hope the tariffs don't last, I believe they won't.

Thanks. I hope so as well. At least not at the ridiculous current rates.

Anyone know anything about fxstreet.com?

I've been using it to give me a rough guide to economic trends, but the headlines don't seem very honest - every dead-cat-bounce is a bounce, as far as they are concerned.
