My wee granddaughters have been so good about not being able to go the the zoo, day care, and other places. I have been sending them special little items in the mail. I recently purchased a card cutter machine (not stating the brand because I am not promoting). I have started making them cards and sending them. Along with the cards, I am sending them their own cuttings and paper backing pieces so that they can duplicate it, or do whatever they want with the pieces.

Yesterday, I ordered a special basket of flowers for my two little granddaughters.

They will be delivered in a day or so. These little things make it so much easier on these little ones that have had their little worlds flipped, and really do not understand why.

It does not have to be flowers. Maybe send those little ones cards, stickers, post cards, etc.

cid - those are beautiful, great idea!

Since my Grandkids are split down the middle with 3 girls/3boys, I try to send over more generic things like jump ropes, activity/how-to and coloring books, simple games - even water balloons!

Thanks. I will be deleting the photos soon. I don’t want to take up whatever space Fiddlerman is allowed with the photos of the flowers, just to people a suggestion to spread some smiles.

@Ilona

These are the cards. They are pretty basic. I am still getting supplies to spruce the cards up. My friend from Florida sent me a whole box of shapes she had already cut, neatly organized. She has the same cutter and has done it for years. The shapes are from the shapes she sent. The embossed card pieces I did with my embossing folder with the cutter. My friend sent 4 sets of the fish bowl, and a bunch of sea horses, and about 5 or 6 "hugs", and about 10 of the badge shape on the inside that I wrote on with my horrible handwriting. So the girls each got a set of everything along with the completed card from me. Well, they will get them because they were just mailed. I told my daughter I sent them. My older granddaughter will ask her mama to ask me to send her more of something I send if I am not quick enough with the next one (Usually postcards and stickers), so I will get a FaceTime call from her asking, "Grandmama, can you please send me some more ...?" Rats, I should have waited so I could get a FaceTime request!

Really nice! I have done a lot of paper crafts earlier in my life. I made all christmas cards etc. myself. I feel like I don’t have time for that anymore, or maybe I’ve just become lazy...  I only knit socks nowadays.

Thanks. I will be deleting this post in about a week. I don't want to get the forum turned into a crafting site. I was just getting people to realize that even little kids may need a special treat now and then during the "safer at home" period.
