You know you have been practicing too much when the thumb pad on our FM CF bow starts to come off and you've had to put a plaster on your thumb so that it doesn't hurt. rofl

BTW....... The FM CF bow is great. It's just that I have been using it a lot. Wear and tear dose happen. Both on bows and thumbs

Seen it all. Done it all. Can't remember most of dunno ..... What was I saying???? facepalm

It really does happen. It happens a lot more with me than anyone else I know too. I used to spend quite a lot of money replacing my thumb leather on my fine bows at the luthiers before I had access to FM bows :-)
I would say I had the leather changed about every 6 months cause it was worn to the stick and rehaired at least every 3 months but sometimes after 6-8 weeks.

I am not getting any wear or tear.....perhaps I am oblivious to it, maybe I heal like wolverine? (def not my feet lately though.) Maybe I dont practice enough, even though I think I do......So far I get a sore back and my brain goes numb when Ive been at it too much.

My fingers are very acidy and I've just always had that problem. It's always been a problem for me to have aluminum D and A strings for example.

A very inexpensive way to save the leather grip on your bow is to pick up some shrink tube at the auto parts store, slip a piece over the grip then heat it with a lighter to shrink the tube. Its what I did with my pernambuco bow, make's for a nice grip.

Couldn't practice for a while. Had a very sore thumb. Had to do something. Couldn't go fishing because of the rain. Darn
