A cello YouTube

Banish Misfortune

This is nit exactly like the sheet music I downloaded, but it is someone playing it on a cello. Oh, how I wish my intonation and bowing was that smooth.

That sounds great on cello, slightly different  version again but like I said before there are dozens of versions of these tunes, i think your bowing and intonation are good, dont run yourself down.

I am rewriting my version for cello. easier than changing it as I play it. i usually do that,   but this one is faster and more notes to deal with. I would like to have some speed. i need to work on that.

That is what I like about the Party Room, and the badges, in general, it makes me try new music and work towards something.

you might play slow and add alot of swing to it so its not atraight on the beat if speed is a problem. i think these need that.

with a metronome maybe set to 6 beats per bar..to get the speed right for yourself...then turn off the clicks in beat 2, 3, 5 & 6.  that kinda works for me sometimes...  if you set it so there is a click on every beat it becomes more straight i think...also..its always felt more natural playing with a slowed down recording that i like though.  youtube works but its locked in to 70 and 50 percent and im usually somewhere in between that plus when its slowed there, it sounds weird to me.  i really think playing along with someone or a drum track or metronome helps when learning something new.   unless youve internalized the tune already.  like, by listening to someone llaying it on recording already.  if you can whistle or hum it in time then that really helps.  my ramblings...maybe helps...

Oh, you just gave me an idea! Thank you. I have to get it more or less memorized first.

Thanks!

@ABitRusty -

Hey, you're swing'n it great!
I love it!

Wasn't feeling good yesterday, so I only have the 1st part memorized - into the groove with it (even though it's not a favorite of mine).

I'll see if I can get the rest of it all together over the weekend.

Have to make "Happy Birthday" sound good w/double stops today for Daughter's 40th - really feeling old, now.🙄

...really rather work on getting "Cis Ní Liatháin" down - haven't played it, yet.

I have my cello written up. I am changing the rhythm a bit in parts because it is easier in some places that way, and in other areas, with cello, it sounds better with a slightly different rhythm, so I can get more lilt into it. Still have quite a ways to go because I know what I want, and am having issues doing it. I want to give it a decent try, though. If I can't get it the way I really want it by the end of next week, I will do it the way it is at that time.

These parties are fun and introduce participants to different music forms to try.

In case anyone wants the cello version, I redid violin copy I posted above for cello. Hopefully, I got it right.

Great fiddling, @stringy  & @ABitRusty

Interesting background on tune, stringy.  I’ll give this a go—might not have it done until the end of the week, but I’ll get it in there.

Here is my version. 😊 It’s a bit slow in my opinion and that F# on the C-string tried to kill me, but here it is. 😝 This was really fun to play too! Thank you @stringy  for starting this party, otherwise I would never have tried this.
