Took a look at this the other night Emily, and had a couple of run throughs this morning, had to read it from the session though, forgive the mistakes and I will publish it again in a couple of weeks, no ornaments added which I will do, of to Slovakia in an hour so no more time to mess with it today, or next week, no fiddle playing now for the next 8 days

Going to add my thoughts on this tune, in general - hope maybe you'll find time to try different bowing, when you get back.  

The only notation (at The Session) that even attempts to help give the reader a sense of being a hornpipe, is the 3rd one (Vulpyne posted 2 versions)

You picked up on the triplets, but most versions there only show a bunch of 8th notes bowed individually - so there's no indication in the notation that it's any different than a reel, or a march.  I believe if you can emphasize the groove/sway of a hornpipe with your bow, then (I find) notes will slur naturally.
