Hullo there,
Ok so I'm cheating a bit on this one, I'm submitting only an audio file, because it's so much easier for me to record audio rather than audio+video...

(excuse my sometimes poor intonation ! I'm not doing this song justice)
This is not folk music (I couldn't find anything representative of France as a whole – I'm not playing the national anthem, no way). It's not even instrumental, it's originally a song (love song) called Hymne à l'amour, by Edith Piaf (in 1949), a very renowned french singer.
Here is her performance :
And she even made an english version :
For those interested, it sounds really nice on cello. Here is Gautier Capuçon (one of the best current french cellists) playing it :

@wtw -
That's a very beautiful, emotional song and you really played it well!
"Hymne à l'amour" is definitely a French song.
"Jean-Joseph Mouret was a French composer whose dramatic works made him one of the leading exponents of Baroque music in his country." (wikipedia)
You've brought new light to this Party! 🤗
Btw, did you ever submit a video in the Critique section? Or did you ever participate in any of the Fiddlerman Group Projects?
Even though you didn't show your face here, you have in the past - so you should at least request a "Video Badge".
@Mouse ...hint, hint
Great Party!

@wtw That was beautiful!
I knew this song, I have heard Edith Piaf’s version but this song has also been translated into Finnish, and I've heard it even more often.
But that cello version! Oh, I really, really like it! ❤️
