Heard this played by a busker in Chester on Sunday, its the theme to A TV program that was made in 1964 Robinson crusoe. Don't know if the music is available anywhere, I listened to the original theme on you tube and got it from there, it was written for the bbc philharmonic. I will be posting it again as I get into it with better vibrato and may be slides into notes. I think you can hear parts  that Re very much like the gael

By the way Emily I am of to Romania on Thursday so will keep N eye out for any gypsy fiddle type playing, there was virtually nothing in Slovakia.

Well played @stringy

I remember watching that as a kid - can't remember any of the plot, but the theme music took me back instantly!

Thanks for taking a look Jim. I intend putting a better played version on when I have had a bit of time to practice it, I get carried away as soon as I learn a new tune and post it immediately then regret it. It is a beautiful piece of music and deserves better justice than I gave it  , but the next one will be a lot better.

I have never seen the original series but I am on the look out for a cheap copy in video shops, to see if it's as good as the theme.

Hope you may join in on this with a nautical tune. Good one that you Could easily backheel would be pirates of the caribean.

Thanks Greg and Sharon, if I wasn't 3 cents flat all the way through it would have been OK lol. I Have been practicing double stops by sit in 1st and 3rd position and I think it's made me worse

@stringy -

This is FABULOUS! 🤗

Think you played it VERY well!

How, cool!  I didn't know about this series (or the suite) and LOVE old series & films from books like this!

First I wondered if it was a mixed time piece, but I see it only changes for 2 measures in the piano notation, basically in 12/8 - this compound time makes sense when I looked at it.

I do LOVE the key change from major to minor - REALLY interesting piece!
