Sorry for stone stare..got interested in a Mockingbird thats nested close chasing around a crow.  mocking birds are like the Bruce Lee of song birds..

That was great. I don't have glasses that work for the distance from my sitting and the music stand yet, so I will have to wait a while and then look for a polka. If I can find one I can do, I will join.

Hey, no apologies necessary for watching the Mockingbird. One of my favorites. I have a couple here. I was outside sitting under. tree and listening to tree frogs, crows, monkeys, etc, all from the mockingbirds. It was great! I recorded one decades go. It was fantastic.

Anyway, back to your polka, wonderful party theme.

Thanks Mouse!

no problem.. its here for whenever

EGANS polka is probably one of the more approachable ones.  Its usually one the of the first ones introduced.  Whichever one and whoever decides to look one up..alot of times theyll have alot of 16th notes...not gonna split hairs about time signatures or anything but...just imagine everything lowered by a time value and its easier..was for me anyway.  16th as an eighth...eighth as a quarter.  so one..  maybe helpful or possibly more confusing..

im painting front porch railings..we have ferns hanging up and everyone of them has nest in them...talk about an operation when trying to pressure wash.  lol..

@ABitRusty -

Laughing Until Tooth Falls Off EmoticonsVERY Entertaining!

Great "Ger The Rigger" - like that tune!

Thought I had something for this party so I could join right in, but...

Pulling My Hair Smiley I only know POLSKAS!

...used to think they were the same thing, but just looked them up & they're NOT - Polkas are 2/4 and most Polskas are 3/4.  That's a big difference!

I'll join in - just give me a little time.

Found a few Polkas I want to learn, even though I'll probably make them sound like a Jig or something. (lol)

- Emily

PS. not so sure if I saw a Northern Mockingbird or a Catbird out back - I need to start keeping binoculars handy. (lol)

I have binoculars right on my coffee table. Actually got them decades go when I heard the first mocking bird. They are so delicate and graceful looking to me.

Okay, This is a party room for Polkas, just wanted to get the topic back. LOL

Greg, I am going to look for a version of that polka you mentioned for violin, viola and cello. When, or if, I find it, it might be a ballad. 😂🤪

Found the sheet music, and some "American Polka" sheet music. When I get the new prescription and glasses to fill it, I will work on it.

by standards I mean your standard of playing, every time I hear you, you have improved. By the way I love the phone going off, made me laugh, normally my missus walks in just as I have recorded something perfect, and then when I do it again its rubbish;)

Or how about a Zwiefacher?

Not a lot in IMSLP, though.

This Polka Party is so cool. I used to dance to polkas with my sisters at the local Sportsman club when there were weddings and picnics there, when I was really young. Never danced when I got older. So much fun and such happy music.

Does anyone else have a polka that they can play and share?
