Oops, I thought it was a Polka Dot Party-- Just kidding.
My polka is called The Belfast. Sorry for the thump around the middle of it--Suki the Cat decided she wanted to be part of the performance.

I don't want to disrupt this Party, especially after all the wonderful performances.
But, if anyone is having a hard time, maybe thinking Irish Polkas are too difficult - I found a very easy to follow tutorial for "Maggie in The Wood" to try!
Just record yourself playing it!

Late, like usual!
I was clinging to the hope I might actually get a decent recording accomplished. (lol)
Anyway, bringing "my version" of 1 Scottish Polka, "Raggle Taggle Gypsy" and 1 Irish Polka, "Gneeveguilla Polka" to the Party!
...I gazed into the Crystal Ball & can see into the future... I see much more Fiddle practice. 😁

@ABitRusty -
Thank you, very much!
I really appreciate that you listened to it, Greg.
Never knew until last week that Raggle Taggle Gypsy was a Scottish Polka!
I played it pretty much like Fiddle Castro's, but then decided at the last minute to move it down a string and I think there were a couple double stops I should have learned.
Here's a link to the sheet music, if anyone is interested.
Raggle Taggle Gypsy Sheet Music
Could kick myself for not learning the Congress Reel for the break - I'll have to go back & try to learn the Chieftains' version, now - it's my favorite.
I took liberties with a few notes in how Burke plays Gneeveguilla Polka - there's no way I can make it sound like a Polka. I found many variations, so not a stretch to think I'm playing one. (lol) It's known as the Ballydesmond 2nd Polka.
When I think of Polkas, I always think Beer Barrel Polka, so no Irish or Scottish Polka is going to sound right to me. 🙄

@ABitRusty @ELCBKK @stringy Thanks all--
@ELCBKK Great playing--great outfit! Scarf is lovely.
I really like Raggle Taggle Gypsy. I thing I'm going to learn it--thanks for the link to the sheet music.
I found this short article about the origin of polka dots—mentions polka dance, etc. I really hadn’t thought about it until now, & found it interesting. When I heard the word “polka”, I used to think only of beer festivals and umph-pah-pah. I feel smarter now.
