A video with interesting cello info on setup and how the sound grows as you play it. Has some great cello playing on different cellos. Not an advertisement for the store, just great cello info and great cello playing

I was Googling to look for cello videos to watch fingering and bowing. I came across this  video. This is done by a violin store. I am not advertising the store. But it is interesting.

There is interesting info on setup adjustments in the talk at the beginning. After that there is some really nice fingerboard work and bowing in the songs she is playing.

The first song is actually a bluegrass song! Bluegrass cello!

This cellist’s fingers are flying on that fingerboard during parts of these songs.

At the end she plays two cellos that are the same. The first one has not been sold, but the other one is her cello. She was demonstrating and explaining how the cello sound changes and grows with you as you play it, like the violin and viola.

This is really an interesting video.

@Mark I wish I could play 1/4 that good! Her fingers fly over those strings. She and the cello are one. That is what I want to feel like. I actually gently hug my cello before starting. If I get messed up, I stop and give it another gentle hug. Does nothing for my playing, but makes me feel good, and like I am connected. Weird, I know.

No, it’s not weird. I understand you! I have some kind of a strange and strong mental connection to my cello. I have sometimes even cried when hugging it, just because I have it. I always think other people would say I’m crazy, because no one really understand what my cello means for me.

Back to the original topic of this thread:
My cello had been in a storage several years before I got it. I can sign that fact how the sound grows when it has been played again. It sounds very different now than a year ago.
