Oh you poor thing - I hope you start feeling better soon...that has to be rough on such an important violin body part...and frustrating.
I'm pretty excited about struggling to the end of my book 2, and I opened my book 3 and closed it again really quickly, they crammed too many notes on 1 page - think I'll give book 2 another shot...
Can't help but feel a touch intimidated sometimes.

@Fiddlerman Slowly getting better It still hurts, but it's way better than it was before. I've been taking it easy with it, and am hoping I might be able to try playing again later this week, but I won't push it, if it doesn't feel ready I won't try since it's taken so long to get to this point, haha. I have been able to finally hold my fiddle guitar style and play that way (doing anything with my arm hurt for a while) so I can at least get my fingers moving again, so I have that to tide me over until I can play for real I really miss it, and I imagine I'm going to be a bit rusty at first.

Had been staring at the new strings since yesterday and...
I did it - new strings, whew.... I actually followed fm directions a little too well... and had to unravel first one and put the peg back in - felt pretty embarrassed, hopefully I'm not the only one that did that....but wow, they sound amazing, going to have problems putting it down to cook dinner!
- thanks fiddlershop for my new strings!

@Ripton I get bored super easy, too. Sometimes learning a technique within a tune makes it easier for me to practice it. But to keep myself moving, for everyday practice have my books stacked up, scale, etude then shifting, and after all that I work on a tune. I keep it moving along, and go back and forth between them all. For me, the more challenging the better because then I can get interested in really getting it right, instead of just doing the pattern, getting bored, and moving on too quick. (ok, challenging, but not un-doable at my level, that would just get discouraging, haha).

well, if you count jamming as practice (which I do) I think I may have missed 3 days in the past 2 years. 2 years ago I was off for 3 weeks with 4 stitches in the middle finger of my left hand. now I'm off for 3 or 4 weeks with Quervains Tenosynovitis in left hand.
other than that, playing for 100 consecutive days is not a problem.
