Bow shopping
I'm just introducing myself and being topical, because it's polite.

I have the presto encore bow and also play fiddle styles.

Barry, by chance do you know Brian Christianson at The Fiddle House? I occasionally do some work in Nashville and have sat in on his trad sessions.

Tim

@uncledave: Fiddlerman / Pierre, made a believer out of me also when I was in the market for a new violin a couple years back. I was going to spend a couple hundred dollars more for a violin until one night in the chat box. He told me to call him the next day and demonstrated a different / cheaper violin on Skype. He let me choose which one sounded the best and that is the one I bought.

The "Concert", which at that time was called, "Concert Master".

I'm totally satisfied with it and I buy all my supplies from the "Fiddlershop".

He thinks of his customers first, not the almighty dollar. I thought that kind of person was extinct in this modern age. I'm so glad to find out I was wrong. I just hope he thinks of himself enough to stay in business! I hope to be in the market for a new fiddle within a year. I'm not considering buying anywhere else.

Jeez guys....
Thanks for seeing the good in me (the bad will remain hidden ;)). We are actually in no danger of going out of business. While a brick and mortar violin shop can survive off of selling an occasional violin with bigger profit margins, Michael and I are succeeding by working hard and selling many violins every day as well as a lot of other violin/music related stuff. Quality and quantity with smaller margins, good service, and honesty is what we think will keep us in business and eventually allow us to hire some much needed help.

but the one who needs the least."
