I have my very first competition coming up and I would like some tips and suggestions on preparing for it...
Advice would be very very much appreciated !

@Fiddlerman, I wasn't so nervous throughout the day but when it came to like ten minutes before it was my turn to play I did start getting very nervous, my hand was shaking and I kept on underestimating like "oh what if I mess up" or "what if I totally forgot my piece". I guess what made me stop being as nervous was seeing others perform. I knew most of them were a nervous wreck like me but they still played their piece and when they messed up they continued like it wasn't a big deal. When it was time for me to go up I was a bit nervous but right before I played my piece (it was Salut d'amour if you're wondering) I paused and took a deep breath which helped soo much. While playing the piece I did make a mistake or two and that made me wonder if the mistake was obvious...but the thing that went through my almost the whole time while playing is to stay calm because if I don't I'll definitely mess up. Aside from the nervousness I did very much enjoy my performance and I definitely recommend doing a competition for those who have never done one. Not only did enjoy it but I also improved my playing during period when I was practicing for it, I also realized the areas I needed to work on. I guess the advice I would give to others is to stay calm throughout, if you're not calm it can mess up your thinking and distract you from your playing and also HAVE FUN!
