I sent a PM to Fiddlerman a couple of days ago about something I think is a worthy cause and he suggested I should put it on the open forum before I made a commitment to see if anyone else is interested.
Its a bit if a catch22 situation because the main recipient is a part of our Fiddlerman family so if I say too much in the open he/she will get to hear about it before its finalised.
Just to show it's a genuine cause, and extremely well deserved, I will start the ball rolling and donate $50. We need $150 in total so between us it's not a huge amount.
If anyone wants more details before committing anything, drop me a MSG so I can give full details.
Thanks for reading.

Kevin has already generously put in $25. That leaves only $75 :-)

FM, you should get an update from Terry on this; I think we're really only $25 away now.

Thanks guys, the generosity of people here at Fiddlermen astounds me. So far we have $140 "pledged" I was asking if ppl could hold-fire on the actual payment in case we didn't reach our goal.

I think it's time to let tha cat out of the bag coz we have a "little" situation.

I hope ppl don't mind me saying who has donated.
Kevin as mentioned €25,, a very generous offer considering his other current commitments, ftufc has graciously matched my offer of €50. Naska is in for $15 if we can make the transaction work.

Head Cheese was 2nd to put his hand up and make an offer, after I gave him a fictitious story so he didn't smell a rat if I didn't answer his PM.
Sorry dude but we cannot accept your offer as this fund is to give to you the viola that you very nearly won, and graciously gave your votes away!

I thought it would be a good idea to show our appreciation of the hard work you put
Into the Violaman site, or the dark-side as we violinists like to call it.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Haaaaaaaaaaaaaa and congratulations to HeadCheese.
He really is a deserving candidate. And I feel confident that he will remain on the site even after receiving his viola.

Pictures and videos bro :-)
That is what we like to get from our recipients.

Also, thanks Terry for having such a big heart and thinking of others.

dazed

I have no words. (but when has that ever stopped me?)

It's not the gift, so much as the kind regard of the folks behind the thought and planning that has moved me so greatly this morning.

I am grateful.

Grateful for the welcome I received here when I first arrived - and in spite of my constant badgering to include viola in the content on a site called FIDDLERman.com

Grateful for the friendships I have made here with people from around the globe.

Grateful for the sense of community, both here and (glacially) developing on Violaman.com, that draws us all closer together in both our shared passion for our chosen instrument, as well as our shared humanity.

Grateful that I get to the office a few hours before the rest of the staff, so nobody here can see that I have been moved to tears by this honor ... embarassed

Truly, I believe that I have received far more than I have returned. I am simultaneously humbled and energized to do more to be worthy of your kindness.

So happy to be a part of this Keith!

Here is the fib that Terry told Keith, because Keith was one of the first to want to help with this contribution, which unbeknownst to him, was for him; Terry told him that it was a donation to help my son Nick start his shoulder rest business that many of you already know about.  I had already committed to my contribution, but when Terry told me that Keith wanted to contribute to help my son [remember, Keith barely knows me, no less my son]; I had the same deep-seated emotional response that Keith had when hearing this.

I was on Violaman.com for just a couple of weeks and in that short time HC helped me a couple of times; that's how I was aware of who he was.

I freakin LOVE this site and the people on it!

Oh man!  You guys are too awesome.  I am utterly speechless.  Now I know why I pop in here everyday. (Well, almost everyday, anyways.)  What you all have done for HeadCheese was really amazing.  I only caught part of hte story on the contest situation, but i understood HeadCheese's sacrifice.  And after talking to HC about his "luck" in contests, I truly cast my vote for him...and I like his vid the best.  (Not all vids were brave enough to show themselves in it, lol)  So I had high hopes that HC would win.  Then after i heard about all the crap that was going on, it took a lot integrity to step down like HC did.  Then to pop into this forum and see the respect he has earned and the people he has befriended who were willing to help out a guy they have never met face to face and get him a prize that he, in my opinion, rightfully deserved... amazing.  All of you guy (and girls) are truly amazing.  I look forward to worming my way into this family, one way or another, lol.

Congrats HC!  The best man WON!

I'd like to give credit to those involved though none of these members give for that reason. They just do it because they think it's the right thing to do.

Thank you all for your generosity. 1st-placegold_starbanana
