Since 6/03/2012 I've purchased 5 sets of Zyex, 1 Helicore set and one set of OBLIGATO'S. 2 Kaplan non whistling E strings and 2 Kaplan Gold Plated E's.
I've had a few problems with the Zyex A string's unraveling, but "Fiddlershop" gladly replaced the two A strings no questions asked. In fact, Mike @FS told me that "D'Addario" him when he called them that they did have a batch of faulty A strings and that the problem was corrected.
I've been trying different strings on my "Fiddlerman", "Concert Master" violin to find the best sounding string. Actually the "OBLIGATO" sounded the best of all until yesterday. I figured I'd try a set of, "INFELD REDS", by "THOMASTIK". I put them on last night around 11:00 pm. It didn't take long for them to settle in, I had a tuning this A.M., but they're pretty settled in now.
Along with the, "INFELD's", I'm using a "PIRASTRO EUDOXA", wound E string.
I really like this combination. They have a nice warm / rich sound.
Ken.

My favourite string for now =) ... except E. I like Zyex E. Still playing on my old set (haven't been changed for more than a year and i still like it, though i don't play a lot right now...).
Congrats on using a new combo You like, Fiddlestix! XD
