You may know that the G1N is a guitar effects box and it's just as easy to plug in a violin. The box can make all kinds of strange sounds depending on your taste.
I counted about 7 ways to vary the sound. There is "reverb" and other "normal" sounds (including "vibrato") and then even more rock and hard rock sounds. I would guess it would be easy to get maybe 100 sounds from the box but I don't know they would all be "good"?
When I first got the box I began to turn a lot of knobs and switches but sometimes there was not a lot of change in the effects. But then I read in the instruction book that the first 3 data banks were read only and loaded with presets (maybe 50+ presets). The presets were a whole different story and contained a whole range of effects....some really wild. I guess the factory just knew more than I did about settings!
I had hoped that the box would help make my electric sound more like an acoustic so I imagined a bunch of far out settings to try. Nothing worked. Then I tinkered very carefully with ONLY equalizer settings and Bingo! It worked very well. Again, I had been playing with too many knobs. In fact,I looked at some preset settings and they were much simpler than I would have thought.
By the way, most of the effects also have a volume knob so you can choose type of effect plus volume. That is an awful lot of effects if you can do the math! And the effects act in combination which makes even more choices!

I forgot to mention:
http://www.haax.se/manualsite/.....p?unit=G1N
Not all good for violin but plenty of choices!

Incidentally, a few sites offer a users manual (11 meg.) which includes a whole page listing (pg. 16) of all the PRESETS but I'm not certain which site had that and I do not know how to upload a PDF file/page. Not needed to use the PRESETS but handy to know.
Also failed to mention the drum machine which is cool.
PS My owners manual did not have a preset list. (?) The on-line version did.
