OK, Here is my first attemp at recording myself play. Just please remember I have only really been practicing now for about a month. But if you have advice or comments I am all ears. I know it will be hard with just audio, but I have not figured out how to do video yet.

Anyway in the spirit of the Holidays, Wishing you all the best this Holiday season.

Hope you enjoy and it is not too painful.

Thanks CGBowNut,

Very appropriate now before Christmas.
Sounds great for having only played for a month. You should be proud.

Keep intonation in mind for each and every note.
Sing the melody in your head at the same time as you play if you can for phrasing and rhythm.
Do long slow bow exercises to focus on a smooth and even sound. If the bow begins to bounce, try turning the stick clockwise slightly.

Great post, thanks again,
Happy holidays to you too

Thank you for the feed back. I will try to figure ou a way to do video

I did take about 5 lesson over a year and half ago, but was not happy with the instructor and then the violin just sat in the case in other room while  I tried to find someone else, and then I never really did and lost interest for a while, that is until I found FM and the tutorials and now I feel like I can get somewhere.

I did find it very interesting how I could really hear where I was off and also not bowing well. I have played that song like 40 times and really didn't notice all the errors as much until I recorded it. While I was recording it, I was really focusing on the sound and was really noticing where I was off. I think that is something that was really lacking in my practice time, I was playing and going through the motions, but not really focusing.
