I "lucked" out on wisdom teeth. Mine is impacted but it has grown so deep that if it is removed, it'll damage a nerve and I'll lose sensation in my lower jaw . . . yay? As for finger length:
Thumb: 6 cm
Index: 7 cm
Middle: 8 cm
Ring: 7 cm
Pinky: just under 6 cm.
Unfortunately, they're all webbed about halfway up, so playing is difficult

Here are mine:
Thumb: 2.5 "
Index : 2.75 "
Middle: 3 "
Ring: 3 1/8"
Pinky: 2 3/8"
Arm from shoulder to wrist is 22 inches.
I always thought I had short fingers, especially when I look at guitarists and other string players where they show the hand more often (on TV)
As far as wisdom teeth go, mine seem to have started to come in in the last year, I hope I don't get any problems with them, since I can't afford to have them pulled, lol
It's easy to play any musical instrument: all you have to do is touch the right key at the right time and the instrument will play itself. Johann S.Bach

Talking about being easily distracted, here I am, supposed to be working on a paper that dues in a week, but spending time entering and comparing data for FM members' finger lengths.
So far, I am still the shortest pinky record holder, Damfino comes in Second. Huey142 has the longest pinky (and fingers). BTW, where are they, Huey, Chinny, ect?

You should wind an award Pky.![]()
I wish there is an award for it LOL.
In fact, the 4.3cm was really a stretch -- still won't make it to Guinness World Record, though LOL. My violin teacher kind of gave up on my pinky and allows me to use open string unless fourth finger really matters.
@Kim D: Well you will be in third place for your pinky length:)
Did you say you still have your wisdom teeth at 50 or they came in at 50? If so, I may still get them! :((

@kim-d Your pinky placement will get more comfortable, give it time. The more I play, the more flexibly has come back into my hand and arm to help make it easier, not perfect but easier, lol.

@damfino Good to hear. I still remember my first 2 days of practicing (3 weeks ago) and how holding the violin, bowing and the position of my hand was so incredibly awkward. Now it doesn't seem that bad. I believe that this is a hobby I will stick with for many years to come.
You will get the hang of it..... It's kinda like patting your head and rubbing your tummy.
Only harder, LOL

@kim-d That's what I tell myself whenever I start to learn a new part of playing the violin... it all felt awkward in the beginning and now it doesn't, so this new weird thing will soon feel normal, too (right now for me it's trying to roll my finger from one string to the next when I have to play the same finger placement on both of them, this is when I wish I had fat fingers, lol)
