No probs, I enjoy using the forum but have to remind myself now and again that comments stay and that new people could be reading the forum at any time. Just smack me round the head with an old cast iron bow if you think it is needed.dazed

I've been looking at this and really could use some suggestion which would be the easiest part to do? I'm still a terrible beginner and have flexibility problems in my pinkie finger... :P

The Frood, Violin 5 looks pretty easy.

I've learned so much from my mistakes that I've decided to make some more.

Look what i've found XD maybe i'm too slow but found it several minutes ago on Youtubeduncecap

Violin 1

@ FiddlerMan: 99th bar - i shift in IIIrd pos, not in IInd because i can stay there till the end (is it OK?)... here the question: do You reach D (105 bar) from the IInd pos? (i can't see it clear enough from the video) because it's really interesting i tried to do it but i'm out of intonation more than usual if i do it like that duncecap..?

Another question: bars 21-28 is it staccato or spiccatodunno? And i played it detache 'cause there was no sign to play it the other way... so i'll need more time to learn to play it like You in the video... Hope that the deadline will not be sooner than in a month facepalm

Thank You =)

3rd position is great Naska. I only read through it without much thought to positions and such. I could reach the D with my fourth finger but 3rd position is surely what I played on that measure.

Don't worry about whether or not the passage should be spiccato or not. Just use short bows closer to the frog and it will probably bounce by itself. If not it doesn't matter.

You know I'm going to want several parts from you smile Might as well work on all of them at once. ;-)

Hello It's Sadie,

I wanna ask you that I am intrested in perticapatng in the International Fiddlerman Group Project. And, I am in Grade 1 Violin, so I need an easier part to play in the project!

I realized the other day that my parts are not that easy except for the Vln 5. That part is kind of easy but required constant counting to fit in. I think you will do great with that part. However if you feel like working with any of the other parts at the same time you are more than welcome. I will accept all contributions. No ones recordings will be denied unless the part doesn't follow the click tracks tempo and that is only because I don't have time to adjust the timing.

Follow this link Sadie and choose "He's a Pirate - Violin 5
You can download and look at all of them if you like. The most difficult part of this project are probably the rhythms.

Sorry Gail, I actually recorded all the parts one day but something real embarrassing was hanging on the wall behind me, not embarassing for me but for someone else in my family. LOL - I tried to crop the video but all I got was a close-up of me where you couldn't see the bow arm or left hand fingers. I have guests staying with me all week. Great friends from Sweden and I would rather do the videos when they are gone. However, they both play fiddle so...... Maybe.
We are all driving to Cape Canaveral tomorrow and Universal Studios the day after.thumbs-up

Sadie, sorry for removing your email. We have from what I can see, nothing but great members on this forum, however, there are some strange people on the Internet as well as great ones. I am probably over protective but prefer you are careful with who you give your email address to and that you use the means of communication available here unless you choose to share with someone via PM. Those settings can be made changed as well.
