I would like to ask, do i have to put any pressure on the violin at ALL while holding it, because if i dont and try to vibrate, even if i do not press the string too much, the violin will start shaking as i vibrate. What should i do?

@argy1678....... refer to Page 2 of this topic,,, I explain and show pictures how to build up your chin rest to make up the difference. It's a very simple and inexpensive fix using a couple wooden blocks.

Also violin shakes when vibrato movements are not parallel to the fingerboard. Try to relax your left hand while doing it. Pros can vibrate almost without holding the violin at all, because their movements are very soft.

It's OK for your violin to move by the way. Preferably not too much and not when you are trying to play fast but for long notes it is fine.
Yes you need to hold a little for both vibrato and shifting down from a position. The trick is to hold just enough to do the job but not so much that you will develop problems.
