OK, my first recital is this Thursday. Why oh why does it seem like I am getting WORSE despite additional practice hours! I'm sure it's just nerves, but still it's very unsettling!
The good thing is that I am not on stage alone - I'm playing with a little Chamber group. All of us are new to playing in ensembles, and there are still glitchy places in the pieces which makes me nervous.
Wish me luck everyone!

Ohhh yea, I remember those soooo well. I would get terrible jitters and that would make me make mistakes. Just remember you are still learning and that includes how to play with others and audiences. Make a mistake? Just keep on playing like you meant to play that note!
Opportunity is often missed because it wears suspenders and looks like hard work.

Hi all - thanks for the encouragement!
All in all it went pretty well. The more difficult piece that I was most worried about went GREAT. In fact, I think we played that one better than the one that had been going more smoothly in class......go figure! LOL
I was happy with how I did. I did miss one shift, but recovered pretty well. It's funny, because I am a singer with lots of performing miles under my belt, but it was a whole different ballgame with the violin!
All in all, a good experience. Thanks again everyone!

Ditto, same experience here, but it does get easier the more you do it.
Grats on the performance.
