first thing you want to do right away if you havent yet it loosen the strings. pressure on the top without the soundpost standing can cause problems.  Yes, you can sit it back up yourself, but you need to educate yourself about its position. It effects the sound and if you wedge it in too tight you could crack the top, or the back (less likely then the top)
