@RDP it sounds like you have your tuner situation resolved. In case you decide to look again @elcbk turned me onto this stroboson . I use it mainly for guitar and banjo now but it works really well clipped onto music stand if your close. It will pick up sound and has a huge display.this is my goto tuner daddario micro tuner for violin and viola. It clips onto the body and is small enough to not be in the way. stays put ..handy.
That little D'Addario tuner looks sweet. Daddy's day is coming up soon too.

yeah its great @RDP. ill leave it mounted most of the time.
@stringy i have one of those too...lol. in the case...in case. i tune like you say as well. get the A string and then tune the others from it listening to the wobbles. Seems like the G and D will tend to be a little flat and the E a little sharp when checked to tuner afterward. orrrrr. my ear is off. 🙂
I dont trust electronic tuners at all greg, I think they are ok for guitars, but even the best can be out for violins, I have at times tried three different ones one after another and each one gave a slightly different reading, so I prefer the fork.
Or maybe I have a bent bow lol..?.
Cant beat a sunny day
