I also have a MacBookPro that I've been using to record video. I've been using iMovie to capture the video, it of course also captures audio but I would guess you should be able to choose your audio inputs so you still capture audio through your USB sound card instead of the webcam.
I'm hoping to try this out next week when my Focusrite arrives, since I'm not happy with the built-in sound card.

The translator seems to be doing a great job. I have also used iMovie a lot and it works great. You can also use iMovie to upload to Youtube if you have an account there. We often use Youtube to embed the videos here.

I think I'll try iMovie as I was hoping suggesting both free. Do you know if you can use iMovie with Logic?

I tried iMovie but video and audio are not synchronized.
I do not have presets, or I have not found them, for video and audio settings .. only gives me the size for the video before you start videotaping.
However, the audio is good but the output is mono.
IMovie Version: 9.0.4 - hardware: webcam.

Sometimes the audio and video don't synchronize because of the processor being too slow, however when you bounce or export the project to the disk it usually works fine. iMovie is actually an incredibly good movie editing program considering it is included with all Macs.
