I read about product reviews, but I would like to review service, repair and maintenance I had done in my Lord Wilton violin last month.

I popped my bridge, and it also broke, on my Fiddlershop Lord Wilton Violin. I sent it to Fiddlershop. While they had it, I asked to have the strings replaced, also, that is what I was doing when I popped my bridge. I hadn't done that in a long time. I told them where on the chart for brightness, warmth, etc I was aiming for.

They received my violin, installed a new sound post, new bridge, checked it out, etc. Then they instlled Larson Tzigane strings on my Fiddlershop Lord Wilton violin. Then they sent it back.

When I received it, it was nicely and carefully packed, just like when it was new. It was all shined up. Lovely. This was done in a very timely time frame. I was very much surprised.

It took a little while for the strings to settle, as with all strings, but so worth it. The strings have such a wonderful sound on my Fiddlershop Lord Wilton. Will they on your violin, who knows, violins are all different, and what I think is nice, might not be your cup of tea, but this is about the care Fiddlershop took.

The care they took showed in the contact they had, the way the instrument was packed when sent back, the look of the instrument when I removed it from the case. This whole process was flawless.

Can I play better? Probably not, except that I think the bridge was probably off before I popped it because it seems a little better in that respect. I think that has helped my bowing, just a tad.

The strings sound lovely, especially tuned open strings because my bowing is all that affects it. Compared to other strings I have used on it, when played tuned and open, I really like these.

As mentioned above, this will not make you play better. But, the sound is better, this makes it much more fun. When I hit that right spot when playing the D on the. A, the G on the D, it rings. That gives me much needed encouragement. This is a result of the wonderful servicing provided by Fiddlershop on my Lord Wilton Violin. Frankly, I do not think I would send my instruments elsewhere for servicing. I know this shop, I know, not personally, the staff and owner, They care, and they listen to you. From what I can tell, they enjoy it. All of this is important.

Thank you for the care given to my lovely Fiddlershop Lord Wilton Violin.

Thanks for Sharing!  I also agree with how amazing Fiddlershop is!  I actually started looking into a violin from them in 2021 and didn't end up purchasing until this year.  I appreciate their patience with ALL of my questions, and they go above and beyond on customer service!  Unless I need something they don't carry, I can't see ordering from anyone else (and their prices are usually lower than their competitors!

When I get to the point where I want to upgrade to a nicer violin, I know where I will be going!

Ken
