I'm so excited for today I received everything but my bow. I'm terrified to change my strings, but will watch Pierre's videos a few times and then a few times more. I have recorded the sound before making the changes and I will record them after. I cannot wait to hear the difference in the sound.
I'm sure the bow will arrive tomorrow with Pierre's famous bow packaging. I will keep you updated on the progress I'm making installing all of this and then post the recordings as soon as I can figure out how.

It's so nice to hear from you. I was wondering how you was doing since we haven't heard from you for a while.
Oh boys, you made the very best purchase there. You will love the FM/CF bow. I've had it for over a week to compare with my other bows to post a review. The Impressionist is so nice, but you may have to set it up several time to get the best out of it.
Best wishes to you.

Thanks Robert! I was using an iPod and kept getting thrown off the web. I just received a laptop and I haven't had any trouble since. It was very frustrating because I couldn't even read the posts much less post myself.
I agree I ordered the very best, most of it recommended by Pierre.

As was pointed out to me back around Christmas. Make sure to put a little graphite on all the slots before putting on the new strings. It helps the strings seat better. The operation is a simple thing once you start. Don't be intimidated by it.

Linda, I just changed my strings for the first time about 4 days ago so I can kind of understand what you are going thru. Don't worry about it. Take your time changing them and you will be all right. If you start to get a bit ansy or iffy while changing them, take a step back and catch your breath. They aren't going anywhere. Time and patience are all it takes. Next thing you know you are done. Try and see if you Iphone has a voice recorder app on it. If so you can record the sound of the strings on that then download them to your laptop. Heck, your laptop might have a mic on it who knows. Best of luck. Me I am off to the Fiddlershop to order a new bow.

Wow! New strings, bow and rosin? That will make quite a nice difference! Congrats!
And yeah, like Ty said, color in the slots on the nut and bridge with a sharpened pencil to get some graphite in there. The strings will tune up easier and possibly last longer.

Thanks so much Tyberius, Iaen and Daniel. I had read about the graphite back when I was able to access the site but had forgotten. Thanks for the reminder! Thanks too for the great advice.
