Hi Everyone,

Today I received my August Kohr K550 from FiddlerShop.com.

I ordered it on January 19^th, 2013 and it arrived today January 30^th 2013.

That is pretty incredible delivery service considering it had to travel over approx. 3500 mi/ 5632km. It even went through customs swiftly and that is just remarkable. LOL.

The first thing that I noticed was how well FiddlerShop.com packed it. By the time I got the package it looked like it had been kicked around a football field for a while, the corners were a little torn. FiddlerShop.com had fragile stickers all over the box too. I think that a fragile sticker actually encourages some package handlers at the post office and the border to see how far they can turf packages just for fun. LOL.

It didn’t matter anyway because FiddlerShop.com did a superb job of packaging. The violin wasn’t harmed in anyway. I’d ordered the Courier Violin Case as well so FiddlerShop.com put my August Kohr K550 into the case. (The case is beautiful and well made. I think I made a good choice there too!)

It is a beautiful looking instrument, colour, wood grain, everything.

Once I held the August Kohr K550 I immediately noticed how much lighter in weight it was compared to my Cecilio Student Violin CVN-100.

I have only been playing since May 2012 so I’m a beginner but to my newb ear the sound difference is outstanding. I just love the way the August Kohr K550 sounds compared to my Cecilio Student Violin CVN-100.

It is easier to tune and play than my Cecilio Student Violin.

A few months ago I purchase a shoulder rest from here: http://www.theslipperrest.com/.

Our own Fred Telarico aka ftufc and his son make these wonderful shoulder rests.

I must say that finding that “The Slipper” shoulder rest was such a blessing. It is beautifully made and feels like it was made just for me. I've purchased a few shoulder rests before and they were just a plain waste of money. This one really rocks. Oh and it matches beautifully with my new August Kohr K550. I think I’m all set now with my new August Kohr K550, “The Slipper” shoulder rest and my Fiddlerman’s Carbon Fiber Bow.

I liked Fiddlerman’s Carbon Fibre Bow so much that I ordered another one for a spare.
