Hey guys and gals, just wanted to share this talented young man from my city (Montréal) with you. He won the Guiness 2011 record for fastest violinist in the world. but most of all I love his stage enthusiam! flight of the bumblebee is not nice at that speed though lol.

He did one in 51sec on the radio CKOI 96,9 FM (very popular here) but his real win is the one in the above video at Just for Laughs festival in front of thousand of people with 55.57 sec, Ben Lee did it at 58.515 sec. Anyway this is the one at the radio station.

I never knew until now that Canadian radio station call letters start with a C. Now, that makes sense. I never understood why W and K were selected for U.S. stations. This got me thinking, so I googled it. I still don't have a good answer on why W and K in particular were selected, but I learned some interesting trivia about station call letters in the process.
And regarding the videos...I'm fascinated watching him bowing so fast and keeping the bow perfectly parallel to the bridge. Better watch that some more. Maybe I'll learn something from that, too.
