Don't know why I haven't started this earlier - music of this era holds a special place in my heart!
Here's an interesting look at Dire Straits', "Money For Nothing".

More 80's Violin/Viola/Cello inspiration.
Nice cover of Europe's, "The Final Countdown" (1986) - performed by Cristina Kiseleff!
SharonC posted Adam Degraff Covers in the "Great Performances" thread, so everyone's probably already seen Adam DeGraff's fabulous rendition of Guns N' Roses', "Sweet Child O'Mine" (1988)...

@Mark -
THANK YOU, VERY MUCH! 🤗
These covers may be more approachable for many of us.
Sandy Herrault's done a couple of great 80's covers that aren't so difficult.
I always felt Men at Work's, "Down Under" (originally 1980) was a very catchy tune - and I can see room to have a lot of fun with it.
Sandy shows she's got the feeling of it, here.
AND, Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time" (1983) was a #1 hit.

...hope these will inspire others to give one a go!

...More!
A-ha's, "Take On Me" (1984) - great, cleanly played, cover by Samuel Wang! I don't think I posted this particular cover before, but I'm having a little déjà vu. (lol)
Fabulous cover by "Simple Three" - of the Eurythmics', "Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This)" (1983)!
LOVE this video - Charlie Bisharat, Cameron Stone & Ann Marie Calhoun - all have a little spontaneous fun, here!

Well, I couldn't resist this one - always liked it, "Blue Monday" (by New Order, 1983). Performed by Orkestra Obsolete!
If you don't have your violin to play along, just grab the nearest saw blade (maybe don't use an expensive bow). 🤭
