Definitely some fun stuff, svento! Good hearing violin/fiddle being used in a "power-trio" sort of context. Very refreshing. Definitely kicking it down. Strong.
The cover of "Hey Mickey" was both unexpected and delightful. Got almost a zydeco sort of feel going on it.
"Elder Tree" def has made my faves list.
Jammin' good!

I've run this project since winter 2008/2009 and we played songs that I wrote some five years ealier. My biggest problem has been finding a stable lineup, people moving and getting children. The first one played for about a year and a half and is seen in the early electric videos and heard on some very bad recordings Myspace. It didn't take too long finding two other guys and we played better than ever, but we didn't really get any gigs and it lasted about a year, then the drummer disappeared. The bassist leaned to play drums and we started looking for a bass player/rytm guitarist, which took us half a year and then we played together for about half a year.
This lineup is by far the most promising one so far and we've been rehearsing since May or June 2012. For some reasons I started to make songs again after seven non-creative years. Well, not all non-creative, I've had some focus on learning to play my instrument properly. Any way, those seventeen songs were written and composed during autumn 2012, so it's not only a new lineup but new music too and I'm as new to the songs as the other guys are.
To get something done and some live material on tape, we entered a rather silly and pretentious contest, the "Live Carrousel", which I also did with the previous lineups. Those recent recordings are from the first two gigs in this contest. There will be two more and they too will be recorded. For every gig we have chosen new songs, mostly because I'm so eager to hear my new material. Those seen on the latest videos have only been rehearsed three times, some six hours in total... Next gig will be done completely acoustic with a small cocktail drum kit.

No drummer of our own yet... This is our original rythm guitarist handing the drums, doing fine.

I like it. You've done a lot to tighten up the sound between the fiddle/violin and guitar, gotten it more cohesive. It had a good feel, music fits the lyrics. Your instrumental break also went well.
It's coming right along.
Is that one of your own songs, or a cover?

Good song, I like the lyrics. Compliments on the songwriting.
Definitely sounding good, though, comfortable or not. I'm surprised to find out you weren't comfortable doing it. From a listener perspective, you both came off like you were at ease, having fun and taking down an old favorite song that you'd been doing since forever.

Liked and commented on Youtube.
Both good. I had to listen them each through a few times to figure out what's going on, since the acoustic version felt a bit more aggressive and high energy to me. Which I found kinda counter-intuitive.
What I think is going on is when it was just you and guitar, you are driving the beat all the time. The guitar follows you, and so it comes out a bit tighter. Actually has a bit more "rock and roll feel" in some ways because of that. When you're doing the song in 3 piece, you're driving the beat part of the time but following the drums sometimes. Gives it a looser feel, more laid back.
Not going to think any further on it though. I like the song, and the quickest way to stop liking a song is to over-analyze it. LOL
Anyway, good going both ways, getting some really good sounds.
All hail Ugly Barrow! \m/
