Wasn't really sure where to put this, but I guess hip-hop or dubstep can be considered as a form of pop.  Like rock, such genres have some of their origins in blues and jazz, but don't fall neatly into those categories either.

Anyway, music that is mostly violin and viola based, definitely also some classical and jazz influences, I think this song/piece by NBS is pretty cool.  Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but definitely a sound where violin and viola can do some excellent things.

Great find Daniel.   It sounds like a complete mix of many styles all rolled up into one. I hear celtic licks mixed with gypsy/klesmer - jazz and all kinds of stuff.   By the way, have you hovered your mouse over the two guys to see what they have to say?

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort. ~Herm Albright
