I’m a new violin player bought a cheap $180 dollar violin on Amazon because not sure how long I’ll be playing for. Found this website when I was searching for free violin information and it’s incredible. If I’m still playing in 2-3 months then ima buy a fiddlerman. This is my second day playing, here’s Ode to Joy all tips welcome...

Great video. That was one if the first sings that I did. Great jib and great intonation.

If you do decide to upgrade and go to Fiddlershop, great decision. i have purchased two instruments from him, violin and viola. They are absolutely the best and the instrument arrives ready to play right out of the box.

This is a wonderful site for info, encouragement, general music discussions in the Breakroom, anything non-music (within forum rule guidelines) in the Off-Topic room, or try to get something going in the chat. If you haven’t been to the introduce yourself yet, it took me about 2 months to do that, head on over and introduce yourself. You will get a fond welcoming as members log in and a someone has posted there.

When I first started learning violin 8 years ago, I started with Ode to Joy (in Janice Tucker Rhoda’s The ABCs of Violin for the Absolute Beginners, Book 1).  Good place to start your musical journey.  Welcome to the forum--
