Wanted to get a tune in for Christmas--
Sorry about the lighting--wasn't paying attention to what I was doing before I started recording
Merry Christmas, Everyone!

@Grandpafiddle @maryellen437 @ABitRusty @Sasha @ELCBK Thanks, all!
@ELCBKViolin 1 & 2 are from one of Catherine McMichael’s books (Hymns of the Nativity Vol1—used these for other Christmas tunes I’ve played).
I made up the viola part from looking at the chords of her piano part for the tune. I think this was the 1st time I created a part that I did not change—usually, I’ll create a harmony part on paper (or musescore); then when I play it, I’ll make changes—usually deciding on a different rhythm and/or a different note in the chord, etc., Just didn’t want to change it this time
Just a note: I’m realizing that the size of the embedded video can vary here (& ability to full-size/resize) based on device, OS, etc., Most everything I post here I’ve got on my website link (the “globe” link in the upper right of the post). This link auto sizes based on device, and allows you to full screen view if you chose.

Ok, I had a lot of trouble trying to put this together so it's not good. I couldn't get anything synchronized in Videopad and my playing wasn't my best. Check it out quick - it will be deleted soon due to my embarrassment!
It's "Angels We Have Heard On High" in four parts. I know it's past Christmas - I waited too long. Maybe something better next year.

@Grandpafiddle, very, very nice. Thanks for sharing.
Nice smooth bowing and good intonation.
It’s not past Christmas here! Perfect timing to post this now when we can all relax a bit and have time to watch your performance. (In our family, Christmas has always been a long week or so of festivities, so your timing is perfect.)

@Grandpafiddle -
AWESOME!!!
Wow, PLEASE don't take this down!
I thoroughly enjoyed listening & watching! Your playing sounded lovely & this is real inspiration for me!
Please give yourself the credit due!
...we all feel we can 'do better', when it comes time to record, but just how many other folks here do you see doing multiple-track video recording (out of 30,000+ members)?
...only a handful - 'I' certainly can't do it!
THANK YOU SO MUCH,
for sharing your "Angels We Have Heard On High"!
Hey, is this a Christmas Holiday Party?

And, not past Christmas (we're in the 12 days of Christmas--5 Golden Rings today!).

@Grandpafiddle You're being hard on yourself, it's good! It's a lot of energy and time (and frustration) to record 4 tracks and sync them etc. And I know it's easy to be disappointed with the result, I tried that last year and it sounded pretty awful to me in the end. The tricky bit about multi-part recordings is intonation (I think) and you did quite well, the result is pleasant to listen to. Thank you!
I hope you do more of those in the future (or videos in general, they don't have to be 4-part).

SharonC,
That was a very good rendition of Away in a Manger, I enjoyed listening and watching it.
Grandpa fiddle your video was marked private but from the comments it was good.
Thanks for posting both of you.
Been very busy last 2 weeks, and have not been able to check in.
