Well, I think I'm long over due for posting a video! So, here's my first! LOL I can't believe how many takes it took! I swear, that record button released "flub-up Fairies" that caused all kinds of problems! LOL
I actually came up with this song a little less then an hour ago while practicing scales! If I look out of it, it's because my physical therapist really did a number on me this morning. I had to keeping rocking in my chair to keep loose and as pain-free as possible.
But, I didn't want to forget this song and really wanted to share it with everybody! Hopefully, I can write the sheet music soon! ......eh, maybe after I lay down for a while! LOL
Here's "The Jolly Fiddler!" Enjoy!

Thanks! I was really nervous when recording this, you might be able to see me shaking! LOL
I actually had a much better version, but my phone, sitting next to my computer, went off really loud in the middle of the recording! Oh well, got a good laugh out of it anyways!

Thanks NV!! I'm glad you liked it!
Uh oh........I think Pierre's gonna yell at me!! I just realized something from the vid! I wasn't sitting forward in the "attack" position!! LOL Maybe that's why it sounded timid! Plus, I'm not used to playing while sitting.....I always stand...and then walk around!

Actually, recording this time wasn't that bad! I didn't think I was good enough for it, but it really helps you find mistakes in technique that you aren't away of!
I can't wait till I get to the point where I can just jam! I can do it on other instruments, just not fiddle yet.

I enjoyed it very much. I was looking for any signs of pain. It was not to be. Play in whatever position that suits you. Consult your Physiotherapist about your playing position. More videos, more poetry we expect from you.

I think what helped was that I wedged myself into my chair. When I do sit usually, it's on a yoga ball to work on posture and violin position! It helps to keep my back aligned, but wreaks havoc on my playing! LOL ....especially when I have to march in place and play!
I'll try to figure something out so I can stand for the next video. I didn't think everyone would like looking up my nose for the duration of this one!

LOL, I actually had to figure out how to use the webcam on my computer! I'm used to photo editing, not movie editing! I didn't even know I had the software for it before today!
I hope you change your mind! I'm glad I did!

Thanks Naska!
Surprisingly, I'm adding a little extra time to how long I can play per week! I'm at just about 20 minutes of playing time before I have to take a break and either sit or lay down now. But I can play several times a day! When I performed a few weeks back, I was either playing or laying! LOL It was funny, I joked with the spectators that I was the "drunk fiddler" of the group!

Thanks Kevin! I didn't think to put in rests at the beginning of the song! There are a few other spots, but they're not really "necessary" for the song! LOL
I used Guitar Pro 5. I started using Finale Notepad, but I wasn't too familiar with the software. It does have potential though! I like it!
Here's the PDF file for the song, you might be able to read this one better! LOL Hope it works this time! If the image doesn't work, you can download it from the bottom of this post. For some reason, I have trouble uploading different types of media to the site!

I think it does! GP5 is good if you're used to guitar tab and offers a really cool realistic sound engine for playback. But Finale is much more beginner friendly! I have the free demo of it now and I'm curious to see how the full version functions!
