Oops started replying and almost knocked my vioin off the tablefacepalm but it's OK because I caught it1st-place

Like I was starting to say thanks for the tips FM. I loosened my bow (alot) and it seems to mean I can bow more slowly on the E & A without skreetching/scratching, whereas before I had to move the bow fairly quickley to avoid it...or is that just me?birthday_balloon

Mad_Wed I tried moving my hand in front of the camera quickly as a test and I could see it fairly clearly, I guess it might not pick it up when the camera is far awaydunno

for now you will just need to take my word for itwink

That was fortunate.rofl

It's not just your imagination. The bow acts a little bit as a shock absorber and if it is too tight it can be more like a bow and arrow. Not to mention that the stick would eventually get permanently bent out of shape.

We know that you really have a professional in the background playing for you while you fake playing in front of the camera.

roflol Probably your settings for capturing are set low. Your camera is fast enough for you to see your movements but you are capturing, saving or converting to too few frames per second. <---- Just my guess.

I've think I'm getting closer to my final version of violin 4 for the Christmas project, I've been concentrating on;

*Dynamics

*bow hold (pinky on stick) & looser hairs

*smiling, but I don't think I got that, must have just been smiling on the inside.smileamuse

Any tips would be great.

Thanks

Cool Fiddle43

Great improvements. Intonation is better, dynamics are audible, steady rhythm.

A lot of what Barry is talking about has to do with the bow angle. You can certainly see it yourself. Just begin by getting the angle right and memorizing it then work on using your elbow.

Thanks for the post.

Well done! Nice straight left hand! Try to RELAX your right pinky. I've seen, you are able to play even without it on the stick, remember? So why when you put it down - it becames tensed again? Do something in the middle of your variations of pinky-plasements =) Put it on the stick, curve it and relax - so you will not force it with no need and be able to use, when necessary (when play near to the frog).

Good job! Don't forget to work on intonation (that what i reeeeeeally try to do every time, hoping to play in tune somedayduncecap)!
