Squeezing in some quick playing before the wife gets home. The hounds really enjoy the fiddle. They practically beg for me to play. Cameo appearance from the cat.

thank you all!
@AndrewH looks like she just wanted to help. you get extra points for still playing while cat is between you and the bow.
@stringy..they jumped up when wife drove up. they normally go nuts when we come home so i had literrally just picked up fiddle to try and catch it. they werent having any if it this time. cant think why. lol

@ABitRusty -
Made my day - enjoyable tunes, too! Guess we know who feeds everybody at your house... My cats would bark if they could (yeah, they run to the front doors when they hear Kevin drive up) - growl at the FedEx guys, as it is. Heard Swallowtail at the end(?) What else?
Really appreciate your humor!
@AndrewH -
You only have ONE? Verrry pretty (mine are both white/black patches). No way to avoid my cat GIFs, now! (lol)
No, I wouldn't put that on my cats... maybe just the hat.

Anymore Fiddlers, Violists, Cellists owned by cats (that I don't know about)?

Hey!
Just because I can't recognize hardly any tunes anyone plays doesn't mean you don't sound good!
I thought I was doing really well recognizing "Swallowtail" because I don't play it. That was "Swallowtail", wasn't it?(lol)
So, the hounds just happy when anyone comes home?
All the Great Danes I ever had would've let strangers in the house - just wouldn't let anyone leave! ... BIG hounds.

@ELCBK..
started with mccleods farewell, ashokan farewell, swallowtail jig.
They alert when a car pulls in drive. just excited to see what they hear.. But..Greyhounds are very calm inside dogs. Pretty much what you saw is their day. you have to be careful when adopting one that its cat and small dog safe though due to high prey drive. very sweet animals though. and crazy watching them run which is what they live for I think. they love it. A leash always required or a fence which is what we let them loose in. anyone thinking of adopting one in the U.S. now a good time with tracks closing. Im sure there wil be many needing a home. we are full as you see..ZOO..or would have another.

Believe it or not I hadnt heard either of the first two tunes before, but to me they sounded good. I play swallowtail jig myself, you do a good version, slightly blue grass feel , mind you just at the moment everything seems to have a blue grass touch, I think its the Irish link. I also think a lot of Irish music sounds a lot like morrocan traditional.

Brilliant greg, love it thanks for posting this, some great examples of doing rolls in there which I am learning at the moment. got an excellent book from a second hand shop, o neills music of Ireland, in there it actually has the rolls were they are supposed to be in the music which is a great help, I am learning fiddlers heaven at the moment.

@ELCBK yeah theyre crazy good! the titles to their tracks on that album threw me though. theyre trad tunes but theyll name the track something different.
@stringy youre welcome. that book has a huge tune list in it. somewhere on here i posted a link to a slow players website where they have some sessions recorded at different speeds to play along with and also the basic melodies written out.
found it..

Wow!
I'm sure you shared that link before (it's lost in my bookmarks) - it's great!
Just looked at the "Latest Tunes" and maybe I'll find the answer to my question in the Christmas thread. Great layout, makes it easy to hear the differences in some of those reels I normally wouldn't be able to tell apart.
Thank you!
