It's been 5 years since my little Fiddlerman Concert violin got delivered to my porch (pitched by the delivery man, if I remember correctly, knocking over a table, lol). I've been sort of playing a total of 5 years, played very little the year my nerve issue was at its worst, but the past year I've been trying to make up for lost time.
I'm not perfect, I'll never be a great fiddler, but I love it. This forum helped me a ton, my first fiddle teacher pushed me out of my comfort zone and got me going in the right direction, and my current teacher continues to push me further into all the little bits of Irish fiddling.
So, of course here is an old time barn dance, lol.

it doesnt get any better than that! I think any fiddler would be happy playing with your tone and expression. I know I would! Liked your slides and the way you mixed in drones every once in a while. Also the tempo was fun. great job there!

I hope I can learn to be that comfortable with double stops! I didn't realize you posted so many inspirational videos on YouTube - many tunes new to me. Your progress timeline is very helpful!

Here's a secret, Emily... I'm not comfortable with double stops at all, I feel like I screw them up and put them in the wrong places, haha. I just went for it with this one, and put them wherever I felt like I wanted, haha.
For a group project, I'm not sure. They seem to lean heavily to the classical and movie/tv themes, and my playing doesn't at all. Crested Hens (Solas does a beautiful version) is a very pretty but simple, sad fiddle tune. Over the Waterfall is just a fun old time fiddle tune.
