Week 17 - still slogging on intonation and not seeming to really improve much.  I did take some of the fingerboard tapes back off, I was relying on them too much, and that set my intonation back even more.  I left the small tape markers for 3rd position on the E string on because I'm still having problems locating those notes.

I'm not really very happy with this but after learning how to recognize and deal with rhythm notes, and playing this piece for the past 3 weeks, I need to move on.  Especially since the more I play it, the worse it sounds and the more mistakes I make.  This recording was literally right after taking my violin out of the case, checking the tuning, and playing without any warmup.   The next dozen recordings weren't anything but an awful display on being unable to play a single bar without screwing it up in ways that defy being within the laws of nature and physics.

Anyway:

@RDP, good job. That is a very difficult piece, string changes and rhythm. I have been working on that off and on. Once you get it smoothed out, easier after it is memorized, it is extremely fun to play. Well worth the effort.

👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏

@RDP Good job! I do hear improvement in your intonation--

For just 17 weeks, your doing good.

Keep up the hard work, it will pay off in the future.

Thank you.  I'm very critical of myself but I do know there's been some improvement.  It's not very consistent but I'm sure it will get better as my bowing and fingering get more in line with the program.

Funny?  FUNNY????

I'll have you know that it takes a very rare kind of earthwizardly magic to be able to double stop the G string with the E string without involving the D or A strings.  Even among earthwizards not everyone has the ability to be aetherically discordant.

Funny...   Hmmmmpf.  laugh

It's really more like week 26 or 27 but the way I structured the video releases make this week 17.  When I get into Suzuki Book 2, I'll structure it differently so it tracks the lesson plan better.  That won't be long. There are still a few review lessons to do but other than that I only have the Gavotte left to learn before I'm done with Book 1.

Oh right I just thought you were referring to how difficult it was and I was agreeing. I thought it was good
