This is a love song. It was composed in 1953 by Mr.Cung Tiến, a Vietnamese musician.  It has never had any English lyrics before. I myself translated / interpreted its lyrics into English yesterday.  Translating / interpreting lyrics from one language to another is the hardest thing to do!  English & Vietnamese have entirely different structures of grammar, pronunciation, idiomatic expressions... The targeted language must retain as much as possible the direct and implied meanings the lyrics conveys in the original language.  At the same time, the targeted lyrics must also work well with rhymes and flows of music!

Still, I spent an evening of my time doing it.  I'd like to remove the language barrier so that English-speakers can listen to and understand how beautiful Vietnamese music can be.  Some Vietnamese song-writers were / are very talented, and their work should have been appreciated much more in the greater musical world!

I don't have any official training for violin (or voice, for that matter), so my violin playing is far from perfection, but I am making some progress.  The goal is not to be perfect right away, but to learn, play, and enjoy (making) music the best I can! I attached the Music Lead Sheet and the Translation PDFs here as well.

Hi .@V T,

That's a lovely tune. I've found performances of it on YouTube, and there are backing tracks ("karaoke") to help keep the time and mood while practicing.

Thank you for sharing it.

@Peter. Thanks for watching. I hope you can play it on violin better than I can at this point.  My violin playing is still so rudimentary.  :)

@Mouse, thanks for watching. The translation is not meant to be word-by-word translation (as doing such is impossible for musical lyrics). Still, the translation does contain almost everything (~ 90%) that the original lyrics means to convey, especially the melancholy feelings.
