First tune on my new toy, I have a few tweeks I have to do to the fiddle, the first is change the strings as the ones that came with it seem to be made from tin foil.

Only one run through on this as we all know if it's played twice the King appears, and don't want to risk that;)

Sure am, I got it so I could practice with headphones, couldn't believe the sound quality, much better for intonation being able to hear it as others do, first try on it today as I have been on hols, but couldn't put it down it's great fun

Thanks for having a look mouse, all just comes down to enjoyment In  the end. I think we have a great little community going here, I don't get a chance to read every post and quite often miss some, which is easy to do, but I get round to most of them in the end.

@stringy Nice playing—and the tone on your “new toy” sounds pretty darn good, too!

You’re right—enjoyment is part of it.  I think it was like the 3rd lesson I had with my teacher when she asked me, “So, what do you play for fun?”  I was surprised—I was like “Fun?  This is work—this isn’t fun”.  🤣

I get it now smile

Thanks Sharon, I am a sucker for echo and reverb, A lot of the tone is due to the amp I am using which I haven't played anything through for about 10 years, it's a Roland cube 40, brilliant amp, has all kinds of things built in, I have another amp as well an Alligator session amp, don't even know if they make them anymore, I used to use them for my guitar when I was in a band, they are both really sturdy and easily portable.

Emily, it's not a very expensive fiddle to be honest it's a hidersine, I wanted to try out electric, as like I said to Katie it will be great for practicing. It came with a bow which isn't much to write home about, excellent case which is better than the one I have for my original fiddle, I will definitely have to change the strings though.

I am now experimenting with different sounds I can get out of it, and I can plug it directly into my 8 track and maybe do some recording, it's got me back Into the electric gadget side of things, which will keep me busy.

Thanks Greg and Mark.

Can't put the leccy one down greg, not too sure if it's great for Intonation to be honest, I am finding it very strange listening to myself as I actually play lol. Inflicting the pain on myself for a change;)

Mark it's a great tune and you should give it a go, as you know there are several different variations of it, but I like this one best, mainly because I can get through it;)
