The only comment I have is it would be nice to see your bowing and fingerings better. Great job!Jessy
Thanks, Jessy-
I felt lucky to even get the video, but you are right- I noticed that as well, and will work on it for the future. I have been playing this (along with others) for a very long time, but my practice yesterday was exceptional, so I figured I would give it a try. LOL I still made some mistakes- the funny part was watching the "bow real estate" dwindle, and trying to recover it.

every time I roll my eyes, it means that I know better.
LOL, I always shake my head at myself, like I'm telling myself "no, don't do that!" haha
But good job! I have yet to try playing along to some kind of backing track. My teacher will play her guitar along with me, but she will adjust to fit me if needed, where a recording won't do that for me, lol.

I have the exact opposite problem- but it's on my list of "to change" I really want to start playing with simpler back tracks- instead of stealing other people's work. I feel a little bad when I do that, but according to youtube so far, I'm not really breaking any laws LOL (I have done that in the past- way past !) I really love all of my practice songs that I do in this fashion, so it is really hard to leave them, but I have plans to work with a musician in the area (guitar player)- that should do something. And I might even post in the future a susuki violin one song (I have back tracks for the whole book.)
keeping motivated for sure !!
there is so much for us to learn, and learning in new ways is inspiring for our futures !

leana that is quite beautiful.
I actually need to follow your example and play with more tracks. It has been a struggle for me. I think it is some sort of attention issue with my brain... (or lack of talent).. haha..
Anyway back to you.. that is a beautiful choice of song.... very healing and beautiful. Keep on playing and sharing.
THANK YOU!!!!

wow- could have sworn I responded to this- it is such a clear memory in my head- HMMM LOL
to be honest, although I am getting much better, the actual talent is in the background music- but that doesn't stop me !! Anyway we learn is a good way !

It's really hard to know our animals, but they always give us clues- My most special cat has run the gamete of singing along, or trying to eat my bow while I was playing- but I will never forget the day he sat right on the desk- 6 inches from where I play, and I swear to god- even he rolled his eyes at times. (He really did seem to be listening ) for fun for you guys, This song actually scared the crap out of him that day. This is not me- trust me LOL (but for sure it is one of my practice songs)

Something is going on-- and just now I found another thing that was going on…… sound not working on computer-- I will deal, but that is the last minute thing.
So !! Other than getting the violin of my dreams (for now)- a Fiddlerman Master, I found a music store in Belmopan (Belize- have to see to believe)- it is on the end of a dirt road- we had directions, and sure enough, it is still right where it was last seen- I went in the shop, about 300X300 feet, mostly guitar stuff- but a few violins, but no fiddlerman stuff. I did however find a Susuki violin1 book. I am so pleased ! (but I didn't practice today…. am I too busy/tired ? am I afraid ?)
I am thinking all the time about getting a video together, but I have so many directions I can go- I need more practice… and any way I decide to take this, seriously--- I am tired ! (but I did do some reading today)
I am behind on my monthly updates, but………….
I must take care of my own expectations, and carry on ! I did do some reading in the book, and for sure I (re?)-learned some stuff- very happy about that.

Yup- I am sure that is it-- I will quit my job, ……. na- not yet, I will just keep doing what I can.
Thanks, @KindaScratchy - I know you understand.
I have more time to myself than most people, but--- sometimes even that is not enough for me to play to my hearts' content….. even though my heart is full.

This is the first video I am posting since getting my Fiddlerman Master violin. I regret that the recording equipment doesn't pick up how good it actually sounds, and maybe this song isn't the best for demonstrating either, but....
Page 37 of Susuki V-1 Etude.
not so bad when playing alone, but I have a click track that is killer speed considering it's only page 37 of book one !!! LOL !! I actually have a double time speed I can practice- but this took weeks to get up to speed, and measures 8-10 ? That took some major work.
So- I noticed that the video doesn't line up with the sound quite right (I think- by watching my fingers...... at least that is what I'm thinking LOL) *youtube version actually looks better ? Am I hallucinating ?
feedback welcome !!

Good job, Leana![]()
Thanks so much-- I was proud of myself for actually doing it, but noticed that my palm is holding on to the neck like there is no tomorrow- I am not going to go through my list of excuses-- I am going to git that done ! I think it has been going on since the beginning and it has to stop. I have been practicing straight wrist while practicing- obviously it is nowhere near enough !

You're doing well Leana! You're not alone with holding on to tight. Recently it seems like I've been holding on tighter and tighter... to were my hand gets sore really quick.
I like your stick-to-ativeness. Keep up the good work.
