I was taking a stab at video editing this evening and who else to practice with? Lukas' sister. She is five. She can read music (I mean, you know, not complicated stuff), but can't read words yet, which I think is hilarious. If you can stick through till the end (and I don't blame you if you can't), you can see her rock out on what will eventually be some nice chords. She also hits a pretty cool harmonic and then you get to hear me freak out and shriek as only a proper stage mom can.

LOL, your daughter is very cute! I like the way she performed. How long has she been taking violin lessons and theory? Is Eva in kindergarten? I bet she will learn to read very soon!
I guessed at this age they like to feel special and the attention. I remembered when my daughter play for our neighbours she just wouldn't stop! I felt bad for our neighbours.
My daughter could read some Chinese (She just picked it up and surprised me one day when she pointed out the characters on a computer screen while I was reading Chinese novel) and music, too, but not English LOL. I guessed music notes and Chinese characters are pictorial so they are easier to read.

@Sara: Cool! I did that with my daughter, too. She loves it and would ask to have herself video tapped. I agree with you that it is fun to watch children's video, i really enjoy Eva and Lukas's videos.
My daughter had two recitals, one is a fund raising event for her school and one is a halloween recital. Both time she did well. I video taped both and showed the second one to a bunch of one-year olds, guessed what? They asked for more and clapped heartily. LOL!
@Mad_Wed: When my daughter broke the peg of her violin we took it back for repairing, and she was out of violin for practicing, so she used mine -- a full size violin. She loved it and still asks to play with mine ocassionally. I guess at this age they like "BIG" thing. One thing about it is after she practiced on my violin for a week, she held her scroll higher when her 1/4 violin arrived. The big violin is actually easier for her to bow without touching other strings -- the bigger spacing helped.
