I am amazed at people that can learn another language.1st-place

I have tried, and I mean really tried to learn another language. Went to local Jr. College and took three semesters of Spanish. dazed No habla espanol.

So to all of you bilinguals out there , My hat is off to you. (Need a balloon taking his hat off)  I guess I'll just have to stick with English flag_usa.

What word were you thinking of in Russian when you decided upon anfractuous to describe your lovely shkaf? I would love to know what led you to that particular choice of words.

I so understand you Late bloomer. I am really impressed with people here at the way they can write in English and that is not their first language. I'm getting good at Spanish but can't write it in words for the life of me. jimi-hendrix

Mad ... you really are a natural, that was beautiful to watch.heart

Of course, you know perfectly well which notes were a little off, I could see it in your face, but your body language is very positive, your hands are beautiful, your technique is admirable.  And those little 'off' notes were quickly corrected in the most part, so I've no doubt you will learn quickly from your practise sessions.

On the whole ... BRAVO !!  cheerleader

LB and MGN, I've been trying for years to learn Italian, I get a few words, then it becomes too hard and I drop it for a few years before trying again.  I haven't given up on it, but I don't think I'll ever be expert unless I go live in Italy (which I'd love to do).  I also have great respect for those on these forums for whom English is a second language.  coffee

If you think you can, or you think you can't, you're probably right.

I can't wait to use Anfractuous in a conversation and see the looks I get. I wonder how many people will ask what that means

MGN, LB, Robyn - as says Russian paraphrase: "Голь на выдумки хитра" - "Necessity is the mother of invention" it's not a correct translate. Means: if you really need something - you do this, easy it or not! =)))

Chinny, I have to play them and actually really want to, and try my best, but i'ts not easy, though FM's Christmas project helps very well! =) How do you do with it BTW? Will you post your video for v1?

Robyn, Thank You! I wish i was as good as you say..embarassed

Sorry, it was a joke on the similarity of the words.  Maybe not in the best taste.

I've heard some renditions of Avé Maria that might qualify, Mad_Wed. LOL

I suspect my neighbor thinks the same of most of my practice sessions...

Nicely done! Seriously, for someone deprived of being able to play for years, and considering the short amount of time you have been on this site, it is quite impressive!

You had a few notes that were initially a bit off intonation-wise, but you did an excellent job recovering, and I can tell you have a good ear. Good posture, wrist, and bow hold too. With practice, you will gain more confidence in finger placement (without second guessing) to where you are hitting those notes spot on, with only a microtone difference correction. Your vibrato is developing nicely too!

I would also like to say BRAVO on posting a video! It is very encouraging and inspiring for me to see so many people uploading videos of themselves playing! Courage, confidence and passion make a world of difference! I have been playing more or less for over 30 years, more actively within the past three years, but have been video/public performance shy, and I realize I have been ridiculously too self-conscious. Perhaps once I get this speech class (video speeches) out of the way, I'll post a video here (:
