Is anyone else as big of a fan of him as I am?

This is a great interview.  In the interview they reference a performance he did for a Holocaust memorial video.  The entire performance they speak of is in the second video link.  It might be the most amazing thing I have ever heard.

"It can sing like a bird, it can cry like a human being, it can be very angry it can be all that humans are" Maxim Vengerov

Ok I'm making this my forum signature quote! This guy resumes in a single sentence what I feel about the violin and why I love it! Need to Youtube him and hear the full Bach Adagio Sonata No1. Thank you for sharing this! I was gasping when he told the story of the old lady who was saved because she could play violin. I also wonder what his strings are ROFL he's E string sounds so good.

It's a great quote.  I have been watching as much of Vengerov as I can.  There is a great deal on YouTube.

A great documentary:

An hour long masterclass he teaches:

Some great performances:

My favorite is still the Chaconne.

Fantastic violinist indeed. Have always enjoyed listening to him.

I love listening to him play, but his stage performance is something to behold. He has so much energy!

Never mind maneuvers, just go straight at them.
